ABOUT HOME SAFE
Power folk foursome Wise Woman release their new single, 'Home Safe' on April 30th 2024. Built from the necessary phrase they've Whatsapped each other a thousand times and laden with "ridiculously perfect harmonies" (BBC Leeds), 'Home Safe' is a percussion fuelled celebration of friendship, and body empowerment for all.
“It’s our most personal song we’ve written yet”, says band member, Charlotte Vaughan. “It’s inspired by the kind of vigorous, ecstatic support that’s often felt for one another in female friendships, lifting each other in dark times.” After smashing their Kickstarter campaign target, the band will also release an accompanying music video, starring dancer and The Place Associate Artist, Anders Duckworth.
Currently available to pre-order on Bandcamp, Home Safe will be available on all streaming platforms (video on YouTube) on 30th April.
LYRICS
Home safe?
Are you home safe?
Laughing in looks
Talking in twitches
Comfy in silence or
rolling around on the ground
Linking our arms as we amble along
Fizzing ambitions,
Releasing them into the world
Are you home safe?
I like your idea let's try it out now, 3 4 -
Sorry, can I just-
Do you mind if I have a vent? So...
What is that rhythm? It's probably me...
Sorry, my fault, as always it's me being sh-
Shall we just go from the top?
Are you home safe?
Walking with metal escaping our hands
No, I'm not single
Call me when you lock the door
I want you to know how powerful you are.
Are you home safe?
